Management of the BSD postdoctoral affairs is divided between two offices: the Office of Academic Affairs and the BSD Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (PDO), housed in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs.
The BSD Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs
The BSD PDO provides support and services to all Postdoctoral Scholars and Fellows, and has been the home for BSD postdoctoral researchers and the formation and enforcement of postdoc policies since 1999. It is staffed by the Dean and Director of Postdoctoral Affairs, Nancy Schwartz and the Assistant Director of Postdoctoral Affairs.
The BSD PDO also offers Postdoc Orientation sessions, manages the PDA website and weekly email bulletins, and provides support and funding for the Postdoc Seminars and other activities of the Postdoctoral Association (PDA), and oversees all BSD postdoc concerns. The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA)
Issues of postdoc appointment and compensation are handled through the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA). The OAA provides human resource services to academic units and administrative staff on a wide range of topics related to academic personnel management within the BSD. The OAA works closely with other administrative units on campus such as the Office of the Provost, Office of Legal Counsel, Staff Benefits, Payroll Office, etc. in order to provide timely and complete information about the BSD academic human resource management.
